Latvia included in TOP 10 most ethical tourist destinations

Latvia has been recognized as one of ten most ethical tourist destinations in the world, where environment is protected, human rights are respected and values of eco-tourism are generally respected as well.
The Ethical Traveler tourism agency recognized Barbados, Costa Rica, Ghana, Latvia, Lithuania, Mauritius, Palau, Poland, Samoa and Uruguay as the 10 most ethical tourism destinations in the world.
Latvia and Lithuania have received the highest praise in terms of environment protection. On top of that, “Latvia is popular for its most rapid progress.”
Ethical Traveler fined Latvia only one point – for not respecting the rights of non-citizens.
It is stated in the reports that human rights are generally respected, as well as principles of democracy, and press freedom.
Ethical Traveler also notes the U.S. President Barack Obama said: “today, Latvia is a blooming democracy and an inspiring example for other countries” on November 18, 2011.
In its annual report about the most ethical destinations, Ethical Traveler evaluates the policies and practices of the world’s nations, selecting ten countries where human rights, values of a civil society and environment protection are protected the most.
The agency invites everyone to visit these TOP 10 destinations, as well as attend cultural activities and visit locations they can offer.
